Recipe of Bombay Sandwich

 

Ingredients:

 

For Sandwich No. 1:

  • Sliced Onion – 1 no
  • Sliced Tomato – 1 no
  • Sliced Cucumber – 1 no
  • Sliced Capsicum – 1 no
  • Sliced Beetroot – 1 no

For Sandwich No. 2:

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cumin and Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Ginger
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 2 Boiled Potatoes

For Finishing:

  • 4 slices Sliced Bread
  • 4 tsp Mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp Butter
  • 4 tsp Mint Chutney
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 cube Cheese

 

 

Method:

 

For Sandwich Filling No. 1:

  1. Slice onion, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, and beetroot. Set aside.

For Sandwich Filling No. 2:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and roast cumin and mustard seeds.
  2. Add chopped ginger, green chili, curry leaves, and chopped onion. Cook.
  3. Add salt, turmeric, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and boiled potato. Mix well.
  4. Add a little water to ensure everything is cooked properly.

For Finishing:

  1. On a bread slice, apply mayonnaise, butter, and mint chutney.
  2. On one bread slice, top with sliced vegetables, chaat masala, grated cheese, and cover with another bread slice.
  3. On the second bread slice, apply the potato mixture, sliced tomato, sliced onion, sliced cucumber, sliced capsicum, chaat masala, grated cheese, and cover with another slice of bread.
  4. Apply butter on both sandwich tops and on the griller.
  5. Grill the sandwiches and serve with green chutney and sev.
