  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Mace
  • 2 Green cardamom pods
  • 3-4 Black peppercorns
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped green chili
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 cup Curd
  • ½ cup Tomato puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Kitchen king masala
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1 cup Green peas
  • 1 cup Button mushrooms, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp Mawa (Khoya)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cream
  • 1 tsp Kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Chopped coriander for garnish

 

 

Method:

 

  1. Heat oil and ghee in a handi (deep cooking pot).

  2. Add cinnamon sticks, mace, green cardamom pods, black peppercorns, and bay leaves. Cook until they start to crackle.

  3. Add chopped onion and chopped green chili. Cook until golden brown.

  4. Add ginger-garlic paste dissolved in water. Then add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cook on medium heat.

  5. Reduce the flame and add whisked yogurt. Cook continuously on low flame.

  6. Once the yogurt is cooked, add tomato puree, salt, kitchen king masala, garam masala, and kasuri methi. Cook until the tomato puree separates from the oil.

  7. Add green peas and mushrooms. Cook thoroughly, adding water to achieve a thick gravy consistency.

  8. Add Mawa and sauté for a while.

  9. Finish the dish with fresh cream, chopped coriander, and kasuri methi.
